The Trousdale County School Board approved its consent agenda by voice vote and received several operational updates, including staff training dates, new hires and athletic scheduling.
Board members accepted a motion to approve the consent agenda and moved to regular business. Dr. Saterfield said teachers will report for the calendar year on Monday, July 29, with a joint training day and a Safety & Health Training Day the following week; the first student day is scheduled for Friday, August 2. The board was invited to a staff lunch at the high school prepared by Mayor Mcall on Tuesday, July 30 at 11:30 a.m.
Administrators reported staffing adjustments across grade levels: teachers redeployed to ELA and new hires for ACT prep, counseling and special education were named. Athletic staffing and events were highlighted: a football jamboree and tournaments were scheduled with games beginning at 8 a.m., and softball and volleyball camps hosted college coaches.
Administrators also described scheduling work at the high school, including repurposing underused science labs into flexible classroom space and preferring a spreadsheet-based master schedule.
Mr. Atwood moved to adjourn near the end of the meeting; the motion was seconded and the meeting concluded by assent.
