Englewood board grants variance allowing shed at 4229 South Fox Street to remain, 5–1

The Englewood Board of Adjustment and Appeals voted 5–1 to grant a variance allowing a minor accessory structure at 4229 South Fox Street to remain within both the front and side setbacks.

Staff planner Will Charles told the board the shed sits inside the three-foot side setback and roughly 18 inches from the property line and that staff offered a split recommendation: approve a front-setback variance (with a condition limiting the structure to the average front building line of neighboring properties) but deny the side-setback variance. Charles told the board accessory structures under 200 square feet must also be 10 feet from the principal structure, and he outlined the city’s appeal and permit timing rules, including a 30-day appeal period.
