The Saratoga Springs City Council unanimously approved a requested site plan for the North Marina at 1192 East Saratoga Road on Tuesday, authorizing the first phase of public‑access amenities and conditioned on the financing terms in the staff report.
A planner described the phase‑one layout, which includes parking, landscaping, restrooms and a small attendant/storage building near the entrance. Council members asked whether outdoor rinse showers for lake users — similar to amenities at the South Marina — could be added; staff said a freestanding rinse shower adjacent to the restroom building would be feasible.
Staff also noted that the city's roughly $500,000 contribution to the project has been leveraged multiple times by outside funding sources (staff said the city contribution has been matched roughly 12:1 by other grants and partner funds). Construction items include demolition of an existing shed this week and coordinated phasing with other funded elements.
Council moved and approved the site plan. Staff will return with final construction scheduling and any additional condition compliance before permits are issued.
