The Hillsborough Township Committee on Sept. 25 unanimously approved a personnel resolution appointing four emergency management deputy coordinators and passed a 13-item consent agenda that funds police equipment, road projects and library upgrades.
The committee adopted a resolution appointing Tony Anne Anuniata, David Fulch, Tim Lstein and John Yanko as emergency management deputy coordinators effective Oct. 1, 2025, and authorized prorated stipends for the positions. Mayor Cherelli called for the motion and members approved it by roll call; Committeeman Britting, Committeewoman Hand, Committeeman Leani, Deputy Mayor Payne and Mayor Cherelli voted yes.
The consent agenda (items 1–13) included purchases and authorizations for police vehicles and related gear, traffic-signal work, body-worn camera equipment, public-works paving and micro-seal work, and library interior upgrades. Committeeman Britting framed the package around “public safety, infrastructure and the people component,” saying the items will support police operations, road repairs and library improvements. Committeeman Leani highlighted a traffic-signal study and recommended adding signal work near Camplain Sunnyme Road to improve safety near a school entrance.
Deputy Mayor Payne answered questions about the chip-seal paving process, urging residents to review prior "Ask the Mayor" notes for the step-by-step approach and cost-saving rationale. No member requested that items be removed from the consent agenda; the committee approved the full package on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The agenda also contained a resolution authorizing the temporary closure of the bypass for a community 5K on Saturday; that request was approved and will be conducted under state authorization.
The committee then approved claims list 2025-15 and adjourned. The items approved tonight move to implementation by township departments; specific timetables for individual projects were not provided at the meeting.
