The commenter cited local setback rules and said the arrangement could create a traffic hazard. The commission discussed possible adjustments to tree placement and the location of parking stalls to improve sightlines but did not add a condition removing the four spaces.

Mayor (speaking during the meeting) said staff and council had reviewed the item and expressed support for approval, saying, "I don't see a big deal in this. I think definitely ought to approve this." After a motion to approve “as submitted” — meaning the site plan on the dais, including the right‑in/right‑out — the commission conducted a roll call. Paul, the staff member calling the roll, recorded votes from Megan, Brian, Brooks, Rob and Michael in favor; Kevin was absent. Staff announced that the motion passed with five votes in favor and one absence.

Staff explained that tree quantities are set by zoning and that placement, not the total number, can sometimes be modified along the frontage to preserve visibility. Commissioners also noted that right‑in/right‑out stalls, while less convenient for everyday customers, may be useful during peak holiday periods.

The commission welcomed the applicant, confirmed the modified condition was approved, and advised that an appeal of the decision is available under the municipal process. No formal appeal or modification was made at the meeting.
