White River), project cost about $34,500, eligible grant cap $15,000; Common Market (900 W. 8th), project cost $8,050 with a 50% cap of $4,025 (commissioners debated whether an additional $1,500 of interior work should be counted but the committee recommended funding only the $8,050 exterior scope); Sadie Hannah (913 W. Kilgore), project cost $9,406 and recommended grant $4,703; and Ty Morton (1201 N. Granville), quotes totaling $28,566.33 with a recommended grant of $14,283.16.
Staff said the façade program is funded at $150,000 per year for 10 years; last month $44,872 had already been allocated and the four proposals on the table totaled $38,011.16, leaving roughly $67,116 if the commission approved the committee recommendations. Commissioners raised procedural questions—particularly on Common Market—about whether interior work documented in an application should be eligible; the committee said it had not received quotes or documentation for the interior work and therefore recommended funding only the exterior items included in the application.
The commission approved all four applications in a single motion with a unanimous voice vote.
Next steps: staff will process grant agreements, confirm required quotes and documentation where missing, and disburse funds per program rules.
