Council acknowledged local contributors discussed during the meeting, including Alpha Omega and Performance Grading, and thanked contractors for their community support. Council members also noted restroom construction was not included in the construction contract under consideration and will be addressed separately when final restroom plans are completed.
The council approved the contract award to Patron's Choice by roll call (recorded in the minutes as Resolution 2611). Earlier in the meeting the council had approved a separate resolution to adopt the project plans and form of contract (recorded in the minutes as Resolution 2610). The public record shows motions, seconds and unanimous roll‑call approval for both resolutions.
During public comment several residents and project volunteers expressed appreciation for the donor support and for progress on demolition and cleanup. One commenter thanked the contractors directly for their “generosity” and for stepping up to help the community. Staff said salvaged playground equipment was sold or slated for repurposing and that final demolition cleanup was nearly complete.
Next steps noted by staff: finalize restroom plans (outside drafting assistance was identified as likely to be contracted to Sunquist Engineering), complete remaining site cleanup, and proceed with construction per the awarded contract and the adopted plans.
