Acton Memorial Library invites community to Holi celebration May 2 and previews author talks

Anshu and Olivia from the Acton Memorial Library visited the senior center to invite residents to the library’s fourth annual Holi celebration on the library lawns on May 2 from 1 to 3 p.m., featuring Bollywood music, a choreographer, a traditional Holi player, an Indian food truck and ice cream from Westside Creamery.

"I'm Anshu and she's Olivia from the Acton Memorial Library and we are thrilled to invite you to our fourth annual Holi celebration in the library lawns on May 2nd from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.," Anshu said, outlining the family-focused program and noting flyers and bookmarks would be available.

Olivia highlighted additional library offerings, including an author-talk series (dates at the end of April), monthly crafts and a "teaching tech" session planned for next month focusing on Google Slides. Both presenters emphasized that programs are free and open to the public.

Why it matters: The library events supply cultural programming, free learning opportunities and outreach that the town manager and residents highlighted as part of broader community engagement ahead of town meeting and Patriots Day activities.

Logistics: The Holi celebration will include opportunities to observe or participate in the color-throwing festivities, watch dance and music performances, and sample food. The author talks are scheduled for late April and April 29 was mentioned as a session date.

The library staff left flyers and bookmarks with senior-center attendees and encouraged residents to attend both Holi and the author series.
