Board approves two personnel appointments and student discipline actions

Appointments: By motion and unanimous voice vote the board approved the appointment of Dr. Tasha Deison as assistant superintendent of human resources; the effective date, work year and salary were listed as to be determined. The board also approved the appointment of Arlene Dos Santos as coordinator of special education speech and related services, again with effective date and salary to be determined. Both appointees spoke briefly and thanked the board.
Student discipline: The board accepted and adopted hearing‑panel findings under Education Code section 48900 and ordered the expulsion of the students listed in the panel’s recommendation; the board also authorized readmission for other students as indicated in the agenda. Motions were moved, seconded and carried; formal vote tallies were not read into the record.
Consent and personnel reports: The board approved the personnel report (dated Aug. 5, 2025) containing hires, retirements, resignations, promotions and terminations and then approved the consent list as presented.
