The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission approved three municipal plans and confirmed the respective planning processes at its April 15 meeting.
Actions taken: the board approved Milton’s town plan and confirmed that Milton followed required planning procedures; the board approved Hinesburg’s town plan and granted an affirmative determination of energy compliance for Hinesburg’s enhanced energy plan; and the board approved and confirmed St. George’s town plan and planning process. Each vote was moved, seconded and carried by the board.
Why it matters: regional confirmation is part of the statutory planning process; an affirmative determination of energy compliance certifies that a municipal enhanced energy plan meets statewide planning requirements for energy content and supports downstream permitting and coordination.
Next steps: staff will record these approvals and update the regional plan inventory; relevant municipalities may now proceed with actions that depend on regional confirmation.
