Fiscal Court approves fire chiefs' travel and appoints two members to Deputy Sheriff Merit Board

Court members said the Indianapolis event features more than 800 exhibitors and would allow chiefs to observe new equipment and vendors; Rob Jones moved to approve the travel request and Rick Costella seconded the motion, which passed by voice vote.
For the Deputy Sheriff Merit Board, the court appointed Perry Ryan and Andrew Stewart as its two Fiscal Court designees. The court noted Ryan is retired after 34 years in the Attorney General's office and described Stewart as a long-time Scott County resident and acquaintance of county members. A motion to appoint both carried by voice vote.
Because this was a special-called meeting with a changed date, the court said no new business could be taken and then adjourned.
