Detention center reports full staffing, inmate counts and road-crew cleanup work

Jalen Rolls presented the Scott County Detention Center fourth-quarter report to the Fiscal Court on April 13, saying staffing and population metrics were within expected ranges.
Rough staffing and population figures in the report: the facility was fully staffed with 30 full-time deputies and had nine part-time deputies at quarter's end; the facility currently held 106 inmates with 35 housed in other jails. Monthly high points for October, November and December were 131, 137 and 118 respectively. Rolls also reported that the detention center road crew collected 985 bags of trash, 26 tires and five needles while performing work for the State Highway Department, Ward Hall, the county, the city of Georgetown and Parks and Recreation.
Court members thanked the detention staff and noted favorable public feedback on the litter-abatement work. Rolls said the facility is monitoring facility needs — including plans to bid renovation work on a fire panel — and will coordinate next steps with court staff.
The court did not take formal action on the report; the item was presented for information and to document statistics in the minutes.
