Wauwatosa board recognizes winter athletes and high-achieving students from Tosa East and West

The Wauwatosa School District board devoted the early portion of its April 13 meeting to recognizing scholars and winter-season athletes from both Tosa East and Tosa West. Board members read rosters and award lists for wrestling, girls and boys basketball, hockey, ski teams and language awards and invited recognized students to stand for applause.
Among the recognitions: Tosa East wrestlers were noted as GMC champions and state qualifiers; the girls basketball team was recognized as GMC conference champions and state finalists with individual all-conference honors. Tosa West likewise had regional champions in boys hockey and multiple state qualifiers for ski and wrestling. The board also recognized a cohort of students with ACT scores between 30 and 36.
Board members and administrators thanked the students, coaches and families for their accomplishments and noted the district’s pride in student citizenship and achievement. The board encouraged applause and offered brief remarks on the significance of student commitment during winter-season athletics.
