Trustees debated whether food and drink should be allowed in the community room, whether small nonprofit or community meetings should be exempt from fees, and whether capacity limits should be stated. Several trustees argued the space was intended as a meeting room to encourage public use of the police station and suggested forbidding food rather than charging a fee for it; trustees said modest beverages such as water or coffee could be acceptable.
Next steps: attorney to draft the two resolutions and return them for further board review; staff to clarify deposit and fee language and any capacity restrictions before the next meeting.
