Bossier Parish School Board introduces new principals, assistant principals and HR director; honors SkillsUSA winners

The Bossier Parish School Board on April 16 introduced multiple new school leaders and recognized students who won medals at the Louisiana State SkillsUSA competition.
The board and district leaders welcomed Kelly Clark as assistant principal at Sun City Elementary; Clark, who has 22 years in elementary education, told the board she is “truly honored and deeply grateful to stand before you tonight as the new assistant principal of Sun City Elementary.” Superintendent Rowland and Assistant Superintendent Andrea Spinney made the appointments publicly during the presentation portion of the meeting.
Also introduced were Megan Chadwick and April Miles as assistant principals at Haughton Middle School; Mark Braden as the new principal at Haughton Middle; Ashley Sanchez as principal at Platt Elementary; and Tonya Hilburn as director of human resources. Braden said he was “very honored … to become the new leader of the largest middle school in the parish,” and Sanchez said she was “very excited to be able to invest in my community as the principal at Platt.” Hilburn thanked colleagues and family and noted her readiness to “continue serving the best district in the state of Louisiana.”
The board also recognized outgoing HR director Terry Hall for her service and thanked her for prior roles in the district.
In a separate recognition, district communications officer Sonya Bailes announced that Bossier students brought home 26 medals at the State SkillsUSA championship, including 14 gold medals. Bailes named multiple medalists and noted several students who will advance to the national SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta in June.
The introductions and recognitions took place early in the meeting; the board moved on to routine business afterward. The appointments will be reflected in district personnel records and are effective as announced by district administration.
