Public commenter urges clearer staff listings, HR follow-up and questions band trip and athlete recognition

Roberts area school website and found staff listings missing at most schools, making it difficult for prospective parents to check teacher qualifications prior to moving into the district. She asked the board to correct staff listings so parents can confirm teacher credentials.
She also pointed to a district HR posting she said opened on July 17, 2025 and listed an intended close date of Aug. 19, 2025; by her account the posting still appeared on the site and applicants had not received updates. She urged the district to update the posting and notify applicants of outcomes.
Colleen said the Pennsylvania governor has adopted a policy about teaching cursive and asked whether the district intends to teach cursive. She also questioned a high-school band trip to Disney World, asking whether the trip was a performance/competition or primarily recreational and whether the band was being adequately showcased at regional parades.
On athlete recognition, Colleen urged adults — coaches or athletic directors — to acknowledge student award recipients publicly, shake hands and celebrate their accomplishments rather than appearing to overlook athletes.
Board members acknowledged the comments; one member noted a need to correct a CCIU biography record and said she would contact Janice Hegy to update the information. The board did not take immediate formal action in response to Colleen’s requests during the meeting; next steps would be administrative follow-up and any website or HR updates.
