Superintendent highlights student achievements, announces spring break and district dates

At the March 23 Owen J. Roberts Board meeting, the superintendent and the student government president highlighted schoolwide activities and accomplishments across elementary, middle and high schools.
Student government president Vansh Agarwal summarized March events: spring conferences, Read Across America activities, kindergarten registration, middle-school course selection and a range of extracurriculars. The high school inducted 113 new members into the OJRHS chapter of the National Honor Society; the annual mini-thon raised over $23,000 for pediatric cancer; HOSA students earned medals at the state leadership conference; the orchestra performed at the state capitol; and indoor percussion and winter sport teams recorded district and state successes.
Director of activities C.J. Lindsey recognized many student athletes and performers by name, including e-sports winners Zoey Barters and Emery McCoy, Mini Maxwell award winner Abigail Colbeck, and wrestling state champions and top finishers. The board also announced spring break (students begin March 30; district closed April 2–3), a town hall on April 8 at the District Service Center, and that PSSA testing begins April 20. The meeting adjourned and the Finance, Building, and Grounds Committee met afterward.
