Commission forwards Brady Plaza final plat to City Council with conditions

At its April 14 regular meeting the Davenport City Plan & Zone Commission voted to forward final plat F26-06 (Brady Plaza) to City Council with a recommendation for approval subject to six conditions.

Staff described F26-06 as an 8.47-acre replat of an existing shopping-mall site at 3562 Brady Street that divides the site into four lots (reconfiguring lot lines so that the existing shopping area is lot one, creating a new lot two, defining a payday-loan lot three, and enlarging lot four). Staff recommended the commission accept the three listed findings and forward the final plat to City Council on the condition that the surveyor sign the plat, utility providers sign when easement needs are met, note 7 be revised to reflect C2 zoning, the resubdivision ordinance not be referenced on the plat, an ingress/egress easement be provided across lot one for vehicular access to lots three and four, and that the final plat conform to subdivision and comprehensive-plan requirements.

Chris Towns of Towns and Engineering, representing the petitioner, told the commission he had no additional comments beyond staff’s presentation. Staff moved and seconded the motion to forward the plat with the conditions. A roll call vote was taken and recorded as passing; commissioners present voted in favor and the motion carried.

The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to Davenport City Council for final action; the staff presentation and the conditions will accompany the council packet for Council’s review.
