Council Approves Permanent Easements for Adobe Road Recycled‑Water Pipeline

The council unanimously approved execution and recording of two permanent public easements associated with the recently constructed Adobe Road recycled‑water pipeline.
Lucas Pereira, an assistant engineer in Public Works, explained the easements cover two parcels outside city limits—Pronzini Farms (pumpkin patch/Christmas‑tree property) and Klein Vineyards—where the pipeline was installed. Pereira said the easements were negotiated with the property owners before construction and recorded now that construction is complete; staff recommended the city manager sign the final documents and record them.
Council members asked whether the pipeline has capacity for future expansion and whether the city planned to loop the Adobe main into the existing recycled‑water pipeline. Pereira said the line currently extends beyond the easement area and staff plans a second phase to connect to the Tunzé Lane pipeline to create a loop; he said timing is in planning phases. Staff indicated the integrated water master plan and recycled‑water master plan will come before the council in March.
The council moved, seconded and unanimously approved the easement authorization.
