The Mechanicsburg Area School District board on Nov. 25 approved two related memoranda of understanding with the Mechanicsburg Education Association.
Board member Mr. Bradley moved the approval during the special meeting, saying he appreciated the work that went into the documents even as he expressed frustration that the memoranda were necessary. Another board member seconded the motion; the chair recorded a unanimous roll call.
"I'd ask the board to approve two related memoranda of understandings with Mechanicsburg Education Association," Mr. Bradley said.
The vote was recorded as unanimous. The documents were presented as personnel items; the board did not identify further changes to contract language in the public discussion. Administration did not present additional substantive amendments during the meeting.
Next steps: the approved memoranda will be implemented per the terms presented in the personnel agenda; any further questions or clarifications were to be handled by district administration and the association outside the public work session.
