“We’ll have to call a special before the end of the year so you can all vote on which one you want,” the judge said, and set the special meeting to give members time to review the bids.
County Treasurer Mary Wilson told the court that remaining ARPA funds must be obligated by Dec. 31 to avoid returning money to the U.S. Treasury and that the county has only a handful of open ARPA projects remaining. “We have to obligate all of the remaining funds by Dec. 31,” she said when summarizing reporting and obligation deadlines.
Ralph Charles moved to table the bid award, Daniel Carmichael seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote.

The treasurer said the court will use ARPA capital-improvement lines or remaining county building funds to help cover the project depending on final scope and available balances.
