Forks council approves minutes, expenditures and King Ranch culvert design contract

At its April 27 meeting, the City of Forks council approved routine meeting business and a consulting contract for culvert design.
Council approved minutes from the March 23 and April 13, 2026 regular meetings and approved financial disbursements. The council approved manual check 45616 for $8,162.19, payroll checks 45617 through 45633 totaling $87,351.34, and claim checks 45634 through 45662 and EFTs in the amount of $64,689.29.
Council authorized the mayor and staff to enter into a consulting contract with Skillings, LLC for King Ranch culvert design; the motion was moved by Soha and seconded by Kimball and carried. The council also approved the February 2026 Treasurer’s Report.
Public Works Director Hampton directed council to the Public Works Board pre-construction award letter and said the Wastewater Facilities Plan work can go forward. He also alerted council to vendor letters announcing upcoming price increases and asked the council to consider these trends during budget season.
Next steps: Staff will execute the Skillings contract and proceed with pre-construction steps for the Wastewater Facilities Plan; council will consider price increases during the budget process.
