The H550 conference committee — a joint meeting of the Senate Institutions Committee and the House Corrections & Institutions Committee — approved a conference committee report on March 11, 2026 that replaces subsection E of the bill’s inventory provision and adds a requirement to include a state‑leased buildings plan in the inventory. The motion passed unanimously, 6–0.
John of the Office of Legislative Council explained the committee’s recommendation, saying the conference report asks the Senate to accede to the House amendment with one further amendment that replaces subsection E. He said the replacement retains the House’s inventory language, includes an annual compilation requirement, and adds a state‑leased buildings plan to the inventory maintained under the bill.
The chair called the question after the staff explanation. Committee members indicated their approval verbally; the clerk recorded six votes in favor and no opposition. The committee agreed that Senate clerks will take up the report for formal processing and attendees were asked to sign a common signature page to finalize the committee’s action.
No further debate or amendments were recorded on the floor of the conference committee. The committee concluded with informal remarks and a handshake among members before the meeting ended.
