Students choose Jaguar as new high-school mascot in Jackson Township vote

Superintendent Mrs. Permilly presented the survey results and praised the graphic-art teachers who developed two finalist designs that students in grades 8 through 12 reviewed and voted on. She said both options were strong but that Option B prevailed by about 65% to 35%.
Officials said graphic-art teachers from both high schools will refine the chosen art and produce a style guide that specifies logo variations, color use and production-ready files for banners, apparel and printed materials. The administration expects those materials to be finalized in the coming week so the district can begin a controlled rollout.
The board acknowledged the announcement with applause and will incorporate the mascot in branding decisions tied to the district's consolidation work.
No formal board vote was required for the design selection at the meeting; the result was presented as the outcome of the student/staff ballot.
