County staff said local oversight will continue — the county will still set vendors up locally after DHS approves registry changes — and reminded vendors that providers must re‑register every four years and that background checks remain required for caregivers and sole proprietors.
Staff acknowledged a rocky start to the Gainwell billing transition and told vendors that some authorizations were sent in May and June but that authorization and technical glitches remain under active work. Tammy (a county billing contact referenced in the meeting) and service facilitators were cited as points of contact for vendors with specific authorization problems. Staff noted that providers can bill back up to 365 days (previously 90) once authorizations are issued through Gainwell.
Vendors were asked to include authorization details when contacting the county to speed troubleshooting; county staff said they are working to resolve remaining issues and thanked vendors for patience.
