Staff seeks selectmen approval for fireworks contract and park‑pass increase as July 4 plans progress

David said communications and event postings will begin after Memorial Day and that most pass sales occur in the two weeks before the event. He described stage and entertainment arrangements, vendor coordination and volunteer signups; staff reported eight to nine food trucks signed so far and strong interest in boot truck signups.
Commissioners discussed coordinating July 4 activities with the town’s 250th anniversary schedule so the two efforts do not conflict. Staff said the 250th organizers plan a separate parade on Flag Day (late June) and currently do not propose major events on July 4 that would compete with the fireworks.
No formal vote on the fireworks contract or park‑pass increase was recorded at the commission meeting; staff said they will present the contract and the proposed fee change to the board of selectmen on Tuesday morning and will return to the commission for further updates.
