Wyoming council swears in Officer Logan String

Officer Logan String was sworn in as a police officer for the City of Wyoming during the council’s April 15 meeting, officials said.
Chief Bower introduced String as “the newest addition to the Wyoming Police Department,” saying String “exemplifies the core values that define our department” and describing his path from a grant-funded IC POE position to a licensed officer. Bower said String joined the department last August, completed required training and recently passed the Minnesota Peace Officer Licensing Exam.
Bower outlined String’s résumé for the council: a bachelor’s degree in water resources from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and prior work in construction, landscaping, water management and as a body-shop technician at Rosenbower. Bower added that String lives in Wyoming, completed multiple ride-alongs as a cadet and demonstrated professionalism during training.
Chief Bower also urged support for the IC POE program that helped place String, noting he believed the program was not included in the most recent budget proposal and asking community members to contact state elected officials in support of continued funding.
Officer String recited the oath to support the constitutions of the United States and Minnesota and to faithfully discharge the duties of a police officer for the City of Wyoming. Family members, including his wife Olivia who pinned on his badge, joined in applause following the ceremony. The council recessed briefly at 7:06 p.m. to allow photos and congratulations before returning at 7:15 p.m.
