Board members used their reports section to recognize student accomplishments from the winter athletic season and the district music program. The board noted individual athletic achievements, including a WPIL 2A diving champion, an advanced division floor champion and a boys 200-yard freestyle relay title, and said the district will invite the champions to a future board meeting.
The board thanked music staff (named in the meeting as Mr. Disso and Mr. Lasher) for the Music in Our Schools Month performance, which the board said had been available via live stream. The board presented certificates to the February students of the month: seventh-grader Lucy Kamney, eighth-grader Gia Win (present at the meeting) and 12th-grader Carly Winnick (also present).
Student representatives reported on extracurricular activities including a polar plunge event, UN Sustainable Development Goal project work, and CWCTC outreach road shows that bring career-and-technical programming to elementary, middle and high schools. A board member also noted a scholarship established in memory of a student; the speaker did not recall the student's name during the meeting.
The meeting record also included congratulatory remarks and best wishes to departing Assistant Superintendent Dr. Beth Hudson and welcome remarks for incoming Assistant Superintendent Dr. John Campbell.
