Later in the agenda the commission considered Item 5, a preliminary plat for the Miller Family Plat 1 to subdivide 115 Maple Street into two lots. Staff said the property is within the R2 zoning district and the Prattville Historic District and that the proposed plat complied with subdivision regulations. The commission approved the preliminary plat in a recorded motion.
During public comment, Violet Williams, a nearby resident, asked whether the city would resend certified-mail notices for the rescheduled hearing, citing difficulty receiving the first mailing. She also raised concerns about wildlife and property impacts near the creek behind the property. Staff said the item had been specifically requested by the applicant to be heard on May 21 and that notices would be reissued; staff also suggested signing up for the city's Mailchimp notifications to receive electronic alerts.
The commission closed the meeting after approving the preliminary plat and taking the tabling votes; staff were asked to confirm mailing and GIS details for the items that were tabled.
