Board approves routine purchases, property sale and cooperative agreements

The Hopewell Area School Board approved a package of routine business items at its Nov. 18 meeting, including procurement, cooperative agreements and property transactions.
By roll call the board approved payment of listed bills and ratifications. The board also approved the purchase of a 2025 72-passenger diesel bus from Wolfington Body Company for $115,500.
On athletics, the board approved a PIAA cooperative sponsorship agreement with Ambridge Area School District for boys varsity tennis for the 2025–26 school year; Hopewell students will compete under the Ambridge name and use Ambridge coaching while playing on Hopewell courts as described by staff.
Under building and grounds, the board approved demolition of the property at 1207 Long View at a cost of $13,000 and authorized disposal of an unusable piano (asset tag 01474). The board also authorized the sale of county parcel 65-00004-058-0000 to Woodlon Acres LLC and exonerated listed delinquent taxes for the parcel.
Transportation business included approval of Resolution 15-2025 to participate in the Alagany Intermediate Unit joint purchasing program for gasoline and diesel for the 2026–27 school year.
These items were recorded in the meeting minutes as routine motions with roll-call votes where required. The meeting also included miscellaneous personnel motions, resignations and informational board notes.
