Hopewell Area SD board approves service agreements, personnel actions and superintendent search contract

Under education business, the board approved a site-based academic services agreement with Wesley Family Services and an amended agreement with Key Solution Staffing to provide school psychologist services that include mental health counseling. Both motions were seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board also approved an athletics request from Tim Monsky to take two students to the PIAA Foundation meet in Hershey on Sept. 20, 2025; the district authorized use of a school van and said all trip costs would be the responsibility of the students, coaches and boosters.
A facilities request from David Buffalolini and the Hope Big Band to use the junior high band room weekly on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 17 was approved. In personnel business, the board approved a change of employment status for Kimberly Halfill (from full-time bus driver to substitute driver, effective Aug. 27, 2025); accepted the resignation of lifeguard Nick Emory (effective Aug. 29, 2025); approved hiring Nicole Kirk as a cafeteria monitor at Independence Elementary (effective Aug. 29, 2025); approved hiring Janelle Jonnet as a substitute cafeteria worker pending clearances; and ratified and rescinded paid administrative leave for employee #251.
The board approved a contract with Dr. Kurt Willard to provide search services for the superintendent position for Hopewell Area School District, not to exceed $12,500.
