Pulaski board approves overnight DECA, choir and SkillsUSA student trips

The Pulaski Community School District Board of Education on Tuesday approved three overnight student trips, authorizing travel for DECA competitors, the Pulaski High School choir and members of SkillsUSA.
A board member moved to approve a DECA trip to Lake Geneva for seven students; the district said families pay a $175 registration fee while the Raider Zone (the school store) will cover transportation, hotel costs and two nights’ dinners. Staff explained that Brena Tallow will take Brianna Branchek’s spot because Branchek is close to her due date. The motion passed by voice vote.
Trustees then approved a Pulaski High School choir trip to Port Washington. The board reviewed a memo from the choir teacher (described in the packet) and voted to approve the trip by motion and second.
Finally, the board approved a SkillsUSA trip to Madison. Staff said student costs for that trip were covered through fundraising. The motion to approve carried by voice vote.
Each trip was presented by staff with a short memo included in the meeting materials; when financial or substitution details were raised, trustees accepted staff assurances and approved the items. The board recorded no public comment on the agenda and handled the approvals as part of the consent/regular agenda.
Next steps: staff will complete trip paperwork and notify families; the board will next meet in workshop on March 4 to review the 2026–27 budget and staffing plan.
