White Oak Borough Council on April 20 authorized the civil service commission to develop a certified list of candidates for promotion to sergeant and approved the purchase of a used 2017 Ford Taurus unmarked police interceptor equipped with lights, siren and radio for approximately $7,500.
Public safety representative Brian Dingfeld moved both measures. The motion to request development of a certified promotion list for sergeant passed on voice vote; the vehicle purchase passed on a roll call vote recorded in the transcript as 6–1. The roll call includes several members whose names were partially recorded; the transcript lists six recorded "yes" responses and one "nay." Council directed the borough manager to execute related purchase documents.
Mayor reported March police activity statistics (alarm calls, traffic stops, citations, accidents and arrests) and introduced newly sworn Officer Michael, noting the department is fully staffed with 13 officers and referencing other officers (including Officer Jack and Chief Ber as recorded).
