The village negotiated a $170,000 payment in lieu of partial restoration so the streets can be repaved curb to curb: Hillcrest Avenue, Whitmore Place, Woodland Place and Monroe Place.
Public works staff and the superintendent worked with Con Edison to arrive at the payment. The superintendent confirmed the arrangement during the meeting. Officials said the payment will be applied toward full repaving rather than a series of smaller repairs.
The board moved and approved the acceptance on a recorded roll call (transcript shows affirmative votes by Trustee Epstein, Trustee Heiser, Trustee Chrome, Trustee Morlino and Mayor Klein). Village staff said the approach will produce a cleaner, long-lasting result for residents along the affected streets.
