Mayor Joshua Rivero read a proclamation at the start of the April 20 meeting declaring April 19–25, 2026 as National Crime Victims' Rights Week in the Town of Parker to honor victims and recognize those who advocate for them.
The proclamation noted that local organizations, nonprofits and service providers—including Covered Colorado—work with law enforcement and other partners to provide resources for healing, justice and prevention. After the proclamation, Heather from Covered Colorado addressed the council, thanking the town and saying the recognition sends a powerful message to survivors of sex trafficking and other crimes: “They are seen, supported, and not alone.”
Council staff said the proclamation text will be posted online and that a Covered Colorado version will also be made available. The proclamation calls on residents to join activities that promote justice, healing and hope for victims of crime in the community.
