ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Board of Aldermen Personnel Administration Committee met Wednesday and approved minutes from its April 2 meeting before voting to go into a closed session to discuss personnel matters.
The committee moved to approve the April 2 minutes after a motion by the alderman from the 14th and a second by the alderwoman from the 10th; the clerk recorded roll-call responses from Vice Chair Clark, Alderwoman Clark-Hubbard and Alderman Aldridge, and the motion carried by three aye votes.
The committee then voted to move a portion of the meeting into closed session “to permit members of the committee to discuss matters related to the hiring, firing, disciplining, or promotion of employees of the Board of Aldermen,” citing the statutory references stated during the meeting as “Section 610.0213 and Section 610.22.” The motion, made by the alderman from the 14th and seconded by the alderman from the 10th, passed on a roll-call vote with three aye votes.
When the committee returned to open session, the committee clerk reported, “There were there are no testimonies or written comments.”
Committee leadership reiterated that a Personnel and Administration Committee hearing is scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m.; the clerk was asked to note President Green for an excused absence at that hearing. A motion to adjourn was then made, seconded, and approved.
The committee did not discuss or disclose details of the closed-session deliberations at the open meeting. The next scheduled Personnel and Administration Committee hearing is April 10 at 10:00 a.m.
