Council removes small delinquent-assessment after resident cites medical hardship

Councilors discussed typical contractor and CSO procedures for notifying residents and acknowledged the extenuating health circumstances O'Conor described. Councilor Howland moved to adopt the resolution to levy final assessments but to remove Mr. O'Conor's assessment; Councilor Baker seconded the motion and council approved the amendment and resolution by voice vote.
City manager said staff will review notification and contractor communication procedures with contracted vendors and the enforcement program. The council's action removed the specified assessment for Mr. O'Conor; staff offered to work with him on any additional arrangements if necessary.
