Rutherford board votes to continue funding probation-counselor position through June

A motion to continue paying the position for the next funding period (through June 30) was seconded and carried by roll call votes; Kelly Haley recorded an abstention while other members voted yes.
The chair and members said the funding decision provides short-term assurance for the employee while longer-term budget placement is examined during the county budget process.
