The board then considered a pole at 147 Ward Street that National Grid said was needed to power an accessory dwelling unit in the backyard. Board members asked why a new pole was required; the utility representative explained the nearest poles were too far to serve the ADU. One member abstained on the Ward Street motion; the board otherwise approved the installation.
The representative agreed to sign paperwork after the meeting and thanked the board and residents for their time.
