McGregor campus highlights ELPAC gains and rising graduation rates; students share experiences

District staff presented highlights from McGregor campus programs (Bridgepoint Continuation, Crossroads Alternative, TALL adult‑services and adult education) at the board meeting on April 21, reporting notable student progress and program activities.
The presenter said data from the December 2025 dashboard showed most English learners at McGregor advanced one or more ELPAC levels, reporting an increase in the 2025 column from 36.4% to 78.6% for the measured cohort. The presenter also described changes in graduation rates and said a cohort showed improvement in 2025 toward higher on‑track and diploma numbers.
Students from the TALL program described personal progress. "I am sad that I'm going to be graduating at the end of the school year and I am so proud that I was part of the TALL program," said student Evan Immani Yamur, who described classroom activities, community outings and the value of his teacher. Another student, Quac Mendin, described how the campus helped him avoid academic failure and supported his mental‑health needs.
The presenter credited restorative practices, an equity‑funded school liaison who conducts home visits and consistent attendance outreach for reductions in suspension and chronic absenteeism. The campus also highlighted partnerships and programs including a culturally based rites‑of‑passage program and a Warriors‑hosted Chica Series that provided select students with tours, a clinic and career panels.
What’s next: The presenter said graduation ceremonies will take place in May and staff will continue to highlight program outcomes to inform district planning.
