John Rosado, support staff union president and a business‑office employee, addressed the board during public comment and described the negotiations as constructive. Rosado said the support staff ratification vote among bargaining‑unit members was 302 in favor and six opposed. “This is the first time in my 20 years that we have negotiated a contract before the current one ends,” he said, and thanked administration and the union negotiation team for a respectful process.
Board members praised the collaborative approach to bargaining during the meeting and asked for the ratified contract to be recorded in the minutes. The formal board approval occurred by voice vote during the business portion of the agenda.
