Nick Broyal, Brainerd City administrator, told the committee the city council had approved the prosecution agreement Dec. 1 contingent on a shared‑services pact with Baxter and Niswah and that the partner cities have vetted the documents and returned signed pages included in the packet.
The committee reviewed the fiscal allocation for the service and compared it with court fine revenue. Finance staff reported court fine revenue is in the roughly $90,000 range; of that, about $45,000 would come from levy dollars to support the prosecution service as budgeted. Committee members clarified the term as three years.
A committee member moved to approve the joint services agreement; another member seconded. Chair Gabe Johnson called the vote and members signaled their approval. The motion carried.
The packet includes the signed pages from Baxter and Niswah; staff said final signatures will complete the city's execution of the three‑year agreement.
