District to vacate administration building for summer construction; SRO reassignment announced

Liberty Public Schools operations staff told the board that the district administration center will be vacated at the end of May to allow planned HVAC replacement, cosmetic upgrades and continued construction work.
Mr. Anderson said all staff who work in the building will relocate to Heritage at the end of May and the district anticipates moving back in mass during the first week of August. The administration said the second-floor renovation is on track and that the new boardroom space will be roughly twice the size of the current room. The district intends to communicate move details to families, post signage and coordinate logistics for technology and packing; the operations team called out staff members involved in planning and support for the transition.
On staffing, Mr. Anderson reported that Officer Cronin, a school resource officer, has been promoted within the Liberty Police Department and will leave his SRO role; the district will work with city leadership on the interview and selection process for Cronin’s replacement. Other operations items noted included a demographer report distribution and smaller capital projects such as playground replacements and site renovations that remain on the schedule.
Board members asked for follow-up on specific site details (drainage and turf work) and Mr. Anderson said he would check and report back. The administration indicated the timing was chosen to reduce disruption while heavy HVAC work is done over June and July.
