After brief remarks welcoming Nguyen back to the city and noting written questions provided in advance, the clerk called the roll: Juarez (Aye), Rinck (Yes), Lin (Yes), Foster (Yes). The motion carried and the committee will forward its recommendation to the full Seattle City Council.
Nguyen, who served as interim director, described outreach across artists and institutions and emphasized cross-departmental collaboration. “The common thread is people are ready to see action and value brought to — and honored for — arts and culture,” she said, adding the office must partner with the mayor’s office and other departments to deliver results.
