Former district technology worker says he was jailed after false accusation, requests tech position

Emmanuel Eubanks told the Clarksville Montgomery County School Board that he had formerly worked in the district’s technology department and that on Jan. 12 he was arrested after an ex-girlfriend accused him of rape. Eubanks said he spent 38 days in jail before he was "vindicated" by a grand jury.
"I spent 38 days in jail, 23 hours a day, locked in a cell," Eubanks said. "I was able to finally speak to the grand jury and they vindicated me. A free man without any evidence." He said he has repeatedly tried to be rehired and that he wants a desktop support technician job reinstated at Northeast High School so he can return to work with the students he described having supported.
Eubanks asked the board to allocate budget funds to open another desktop-support technology position that has been in limbo for about two years. He described longstanding ties to Northeast High School students and staff and said he wanted to return to the school’s technology office.
The public hearing closed without a recorded vote or immediate board action on Eubanks’s personnel request.
