The Crescent City Council voted to authorize a one‑season agreement placing the downtown Crescent City Farmers Market at the Bank of America block, following presentations from city staff and the Delnor & Tribal Lands Community Food Council.
"Last year the location was amazing there," said the food council’s market manager ("I am Ahan" in the meeting record), citing live music, nutrition incentives for EBT and WIC users and partnerships with the school district’s summer meals program. City staff said utilities improvements installed last year make the Bank of America site feasible and estimated the city’s maximum annual outlay for power and an accessible restroom at about $1,500.
Council discussion acknowledged construction on Front Street and the Clock Tower site as potential future permanent locations, while the council prioritized continuity for vendors and customers this season. The council voted unanimously to authorize the city manager to sign the agreement with the Delnor & Tribal Lands Community Food Council.
What’s next: Staff will finalize the agreement terms and continue planning for a long‑term market location in coordination with downtown improvement projects.
