Key elements include a 50/50 split of eligible statewide 911 funds and local fiscal responsibilities for maintenance and structured capital purchases (console replacement, remodeling, etc.). The pact establishes an executive committee composed of the mayor, one city-council member, one county-council member and a commissioners’ representative to handle fiscal or personnel issues while an advisory board will manage operations and routine decisions.
Staff said the agreement is intentionally written as a one-year term to allow the county and city to reassess distribution of statewide funding and local income-tax arrangements in light of potential statewide changes. Commissioners voted to approve the interlocal agreement by voice vote and will present the agreement to the county council for the fiscal-body sign-off required of interlocal fiscal commitments.
