Rutherford County commissioners voted to approve a proposed lease for 15.36 acres of county‑owned land on Henson Road to Jingoli Power LLC.
Richard Williams presented the lease proposal and said the company wants the parcel primarily for vehicle and equipment staging and a local distribution point for electrical service operations. Williams said the lease would run five years with two one‑year renewal options and carry an annual rent of $324,000 payable at $27,000 per month. He said the county acquired the larger Henson Road property in 2004 and the lease parcel will be specified by attached survey. Williams told the board the lease had been advertised as required under state statute and there is no public hearing requirement for leases under 10 years.
Commissioners asked whether the entrance and existing drives would be usable and whether any permanent structures were planned; Williams said the access would be off Henson Road and that the company planned storage and vehicle support facilities rather than a large warehouse. After questions, a commissioner moved to approve the lease and the board recorded an aye vote by roll call.
The lease terms as described in the meeting record include 15.36 acres, a five‑year initial term with two one‑year renewal options, and an annual rental rate of $324,000. Staff said the lease form presented had been prepared by county counsel and that a survey will be attached to the final lease document.
