Commission forwards favorable recommendation for small commercial rezoning for a beauty salon
Summary
The planning commission recommended that the town of Glenville approve rezoning of 0.27 acres from R-1A to C-1 to allow a neighborhood beauty salon; the owner told the board the salon will employ five stylists and staff said the proposed use aligns with the town’s neighborhood-center designation.

The Warrick County Area Planning Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the Town of Glenville for PCR-26-03, a rezoning request by owner Sierra Hensley to convert a 0.27-acre lot on State Road 68 from R-1A (single-family) to C-1 (neighborhood commercial) to allow a beauty salon.
Planning staff told the commission the comprehensive plan designates the area as neighborhood centers with low- to medium-density residential and neighborhood commercial uses. Sierra Hensley told the board she expects four employees in addition to herself (five total). Staff reported that notice to adjacent property owners was mailed and the required green cards were returned.
No members of the public remonstrated at the county-level hearing. The commission’s recommendation will go to the Town of Glenville on May 19 for final action.
