The Kennedale Police Department presented a life‑saving award to Officer Channing Bullard at the April 21 city council meeting for her actions on Feb. 13, 2026. The chief said Bullard responded to a code‑red medical emergency at Kennedale Junior High, found an unresponsive student with no detectable pulse, began CPR alongside the school nurse and continued life‑saving measures until paramedics arrived. The student was transported to a local hospital and has since returned to class, the chief said.
The department described the life‑saving award as the second‑highest uniform decoration after the medal of valor and said the award is worn on class A uniforms to recognize officers who were directly responsible for saving a human life.
Officer Bullard received a certificate and the council and community applauded. No formal council action was required for the presentation.
